Pitt to Host 2007 Chinese Coffee House and Spring Festival Feb. 26
PITTSBURGH--Pitt's Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) and Office of Cross-Cultural and Civic Leadership will host the 2007 Chinese Coffee House and Spring Festival Celebration from 5 p.m. to midnight Feb. 26 on the main floor of the William Pitt Union, 3959 Fifth Ave., Oakland.
The Spring Festival, held in celebration of the Chinese New Year, provides an opportunity for Chinese students, scholars, and their families to celebrate and share their culture with the Pitt community.
Events are scheduled as follows:
5-6:30 p.m. Chinese Coffeehouse-Activities include calligraphy and paper cutting. Tea and snacks will be provided.
6:30-8 p.m. Authentic Chinese Dinner-Cuisine provided by Oakland's Little Asia and Szechuan Express in celebration of the Chinese New Year of the Boar. Preregistration is required at www.pittcssa.net.
6:30 p.m.-midnight Party-Activities include dance, karaoke, and a stage performance.
This event is free and open to students, faculty, and staff. It is cosponsored by Pitt's Graduate and Professional Student Association, the Asian Studies Center within the University Center for International Studies, and the Alcohol-Free Mini Grant fund.
