PITTSBURGH – David Seldin, a seasoned communications executive with extensive experience in government, corporate and higher education, joins the University of Pittsburgh on Sept. 3 as the assistant vice chancellor of communications.
Seldin will serve as a senior communications strategist for the University, advising University leadership and managing the news team within the Office of University Communications. He will also lead the office’s strategic and tactical media relations support for the University’s schools and departments. Seldin will report to Vice Chancellor for Strategic Communications and Marketing Ellen Moran.
"David brings an impressive professional track record blending deep experience in the public and private sectors,” Moran said. “His extensive media relations expertise; commitment to Pitt’s mission; and thoughtful, collaborative approach make him a perfect fit to lead our media relations and news team.”
Seldin most recently served as co-lead of the global health care practice at the Brunswick Group, a global communications consultancy. In his 11 years as a director and then partner at Brunswick, he advised a wide range of clients, including multinational health care companies, research institutions, startups and nongovernmental organizations.
