Pitt Property and Facilities Committee Approves Lease Agreements

PITTSBURGH—The Property and Facilities Committee of the University of Pittsburgh’s Board of Trustees has approved three lease agreements. The leasing contracts include one renewal and two new agreements on behalf of the University’s Graduate School of Public Health, Manufacturing Assistance Center, and Swanson School of Engineering.

Beginning April 1, 2017, the Graduate School of Public Health will extend its existing lease at Bellefield Professional Building, located at 130 N. Bellefield Ave., Oakland, for an additional five-years. The unit is 21,600 square feet and is being utilized for clinical and office space. The lease agreement is with NDC Real Estate Management, Inc., as an agent for Webster Office Associates.

Beginning April 1, 2017, the Manufacturing Assistance Center will begin a ten-year lease in the Westinghouse Foundry Facility, located at 7800 Susquehanna St., Homewood. The unit is 10,700 square feet and will be used for classroom and office space. The lease agreement is with the Bridgeway Development Corporation.

Beginning Feb. 1, 2017, the Swanson School of Engineering will begin a ten-year lease in the Schenley Place building, located at 4420 Bayard St., Oakland. The unit is 28,000 square feet and will be used for lab and office space. The lease agreement is with Schenley Place, LP.

Cumulatively, the leases will generate $123,000 annually in property taxes for local government.
