Through 5/1 The University Library System presents an exhibition of first editions and significant works of famed novelist Charles Dickens, Room 363, Hillman Library, 3960 Forbes Ave., Oakland. 3/28 From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., an Open House will take place in Room 363, Hillman Library, 3960 Forbes Ave., Oakland, showcasing first editions and significant works of famed novelist Charles Dickens as well those of other important authors considered contemporaries of Dickens. 4/4 through 4/21 The Department of Studio Arts presents the Student Studio Arts Exhibition at the University Art Gallery, Frick Fine Arts Building, 650 Schenley Dr., Oakland. A free opening reception will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. April 4. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 28. LECTURE

3/28 The University of Pittsburgh Law Review will present a seminar titled “The Steel Bar: Pittsburgh Lawyers Forging America From the Frontier to the Future,” from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., University Club, 123 University Place, Oakland. The seminar has been approved by the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board for five hours of continuing legal education (CLE) credit. 3/30 The Emerging Legend Series presents a free performance by folksingers Phil Smith and Steve Weber from noon to 1 p.m., Cup & Chaucer Café, ground floor, Hillman Library, 3960 Forbes Ave., Oakland. 4/2 Pitt’s Music on the Edge program presents the Bugallo-Williams Piano Duo in a concert tribute to the music of Hungarian composer György Kurtág, 8 p.m., Bellefield Hall auditorium, 315 S.
