Student-led Pitt Political Review Now Online as an E-Journal
PITTSBURGH—The Pitt Political Review (PPR), a biannual periodical developed by students at the University of Pittsburgh Honors College, is now being published as an e-journal by Pitt’s University Library System (ULS), a national leader in Open Access digital publishing.
PPR, at http://ppr.pitt.edu, is a compilation of peer-reviewed writing that analyzes political issues, events, and personalities. Launched in 2003, PPR has emerged as the University’s premier student publication for nonpartisan political commentary, research, and debate. Pitt undergraduate students manage, edit, and write the content for PPR and anyone can make submissions. The student editor position rotates once a year.
Pitt’s E-Journal Publishing Program is part of ULS’ D-Scribe Digital Publishing Program. The ULS is the 23rd-largest academic library system within the United States. Under the administration of the Hillman University Librarian and ULS director, it includes 21 libraries and holds more than 6.2 million volumes and world-class specialized collections, among them the Archive of Scientific Philosophy and the Archives of Industrial Society, as well as major foreign-language materials totaling 1.4 million volumes. The ULS offers state-of-the-art facilities and services, with innovative digital library collections and capabilities.
