Lime-Green Towels to Be Given Away at Oct. 26 Pitt vs. UConn Football Game as Part of Depression-Awareness Campaign
PITTSBURGH—As part of the University of Pittsburgh’s depression awareness campaign—“Give Depression a Voice…Talk About It”—students attending the Pitt vs. UConn football game at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh Oct. 26. will receive lime-green towels in support of the campaign.
The “Talk About It” campaign aims to educate the Pitt community about mental health by encouraging individuals with depression to seek support and professional help. In an effort to reduce the stigma associated with mental illnesses, the campaign also will highlight the health and wellness resources available at the University.
The towels were chosen to rally student support for depression awareness; the lime-green color symbolizes the solidarity of Pitt’s traditional colors, blue and gold. In addition, public service announcements featuring Pitt athletes will air before and during the game.
