LECTURES 

3/10                 John Dovidio, a professor of psychology at Yale University, will deliver a lecture titled “Intergroup Relations/Implicit Bias” at noon in the School of Social Work Conference Center, 2017 Cathedral of Learning, 4200 Fifth Ave., Oakland. The event is sponsored by Pitt’s Center on Race and Social Problems and is part of the center’s Reed Smith Spring 2011 Speaker Series. Lunch is provided. 3/16                 Pitt’s American Experience Distinguished Lecture Series of the Dick Thornburgh Forum for Law and Public Policy and the University Honors College present a lecture, “Midnight in Mexico: Descent Into Darkness,” with Alfredo Corchado, Mexico Bureau Chief at the Dallas Morning News, at 8 p.m., Twentieth Century Club, Bigelow Boulevard at Parkman Street, Oakland. EXHIBITIONS 

Through 3/18   Pitt’s Department of the History of Art and Architecture presents Mind Space, Maximalism in Contrasts, University Art Gallery, Frick Fine Arts Building, 650 Schenley Dr., Oakland. Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, call 412-648-2400.  

Through 3/26   Pitt’s University Library System (ULS) presents Renaissance Magic and Science—The World of Harry Potter, an exhibition of scholarly books about the history or magic, witchcraft, experimental science, and folk medicine, outside the ULS administrative offices, 271 Hillman Library, 3960 Forbes Ave., Oakland. The display is in collaboration with the National Library of Medicine’s travelling exhibition Harry Potter’s World: Renaissance Science, Magic, and Medicine, being shown through March 26 in Pitt’s Health Sciences Library System’s Falk Library, 200 Scaife Hall, 3550 Terrace St., Oakland. 

THEATER 

Through 3/12    Kuntu Repertory Theatre continues its run of Mahalia Jackson: Standing on Holy Ground in the Seventh Floor Auditorium, Alumni Hall, 4227 Fifth Ave., Oakland. MUSIC
