Contact:

PITTSBURGH—Ballet, tap, modern, jazz, hip hop, and belly dance styles will be presented to high school students at the University of Pittsburgh Department of Health and Physical Activity’s (HPA) “Fall into Dance” workshop, which will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 17 in the Trees Hall Dance Studio, Allequippa and Darragh streets, Oakland.

Held in conjunction with the Community Leisure-Learn Program and Pitt’s Dance Ensemble, participants will take classes in several styles of dance and complete the day with an informal recital. The classes will be taught by Pitt faculty and Dance Ensemble dancers.

This is the fourth annual high school dance workshop hosted by HPA. It gives high school students the opportunity to learn the different styles of dance from professional dancers and choreographers.

To participate, students must complete the registration form by Oct. 15. There is a $25 fee, which covers the cost of the half-day event; parking is available for $7.

The HPA focuses its academic, research, and service efforts on promoting physically active lifestyles and other health-related behaviors.
