TEEN HIV/AIDS AWARENESS DAY AT PITT
PITTSBURGH, March 26 -- The University of Pittsburgh will host "Teen HIV/AIDS Awareness Day" on March 27, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., in the University of Pittsburgh's William Pitt Student Union Assembly Room.
The event is the culmination of "Educating Teens about HIV/AIDS Month," a monthlong educational project designed by Pennsylvania Governor's School for Health Care graduate Kezia Ellison to educate her peers about HIV/AIDS.
Highlights of this event include: a presentation from Pitt's director of the Center for Minority Health in the Graduate School of Public Health, Stephen B. Thomas, a former AIDS expert at the Center for Disease Control; workshops; and a presentation from the Pittsburgh Playback Theatre. Students from the Pittsburgh public schools and other school districts in Allegheny County will participate in this event. Other local schools and churches are encouraged to bring their teenagers.
