PITT'S INFORMAL PROGRAM OFFERS WIDE VARIETY OF NON-CREDIT CLASSES FOR WINTER 2001
PITTSBURGH, Jan. 12 -- From "Birdwatching" to "Book Preservation," the Pitt Informal Program (PIP) is offering more than 60 non-credit courses this winter to help adults learn something new or pursue a current interest in a relaxed atmosphere.
The fun and informative sessions include Indian or Chinese cooking classes; a French Wine Tour; art classes that explore Chinese Painting, the work of Frank Lloyd Wright, the Art Deco schools of Pittsburgh, downtown Pittsburgh architecture, or photography; language classes from conversational to advanced; health-related courses ranging from Low-Impact Aerobics to Buddhist Techniques of Meditation; as well as classes in financial planning, music, science, writing, film and other areas.
Most PIP classes are held on Pitt's Oakland campus, on weekends or in the evening, to accommodate working adults. Fees range from $18 for one class to $100 for classes that run for 10 weeks. Registration can be done on-line at www.pitt.edu/~cgs or by calling (412) 648-2560.
