FUNDRAISING BEGINS FOR PHILIPPINE NATIONALITY ROOM AT PITT
PITTSBURGH, Nov. 9 -- The Filipino American Association of Pittsburgh (FAAP) has begun plans to create a Philippine Nationality Room in the University of Pittsburgh's Cathedral of Learning, with the first fundraising effort set for Saturday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m., in the Twentieth Century Club, Oakland.
The Music Foundation of the Philippines will present "On Wings of Song," a millennium concert which traces the history of the Philippines through choreographed songs. Seven professional artists will perform; among them are Fides Santos-Cuyugan Asensio, Paul Morales, tenor Jonathan Badon, and soprano Lorna Llames.
