PITT'S SCHOOL OF INFORMATION SCIENCES NAMES DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

PITTSBURGH, May 10 -- Rachel A. Petrucelli, previously the annual fund director for the Pittsburgh Public Theater, has been named development director for the School of Information Sciences (SIS) at the University of Pittsburgh and assistant director, corporate and foundation relations, for the university.

In her new position, Petrucelli will work with corporations, foundations and individual major gift prospects to identify, cultivate and solicits funds to support projects at SIS. Additionally, Petrucelli will assist in finding corporate and foundation funding for all information and computer science programs at Pitt.

Prior to joining the Pittsburgh Public Theater, Petrucelli was the alumni coordinator for the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing.

Petrucelli earned her bachelor of science degree in business from Pitt in 1994. She and her husband live in Aspinwall.

The School of Information Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh educates information professionals for a wide range of specializations in the information field. The School's focus is on the integration of people, knowledge and technology for decision making, problem solving and learning. SIS offers six degree programs and three certificate programs in the areas of information science, library and information science and telecommunications. The internationally-renowned faculty is dedicated to excellence in teaching and research.
