PITT'S HEINZ MEMORIAL CHAPEL TO HOST CONCERT BY ENGLISH COMPOSER AND ORGANIST ANDREW FLETCHER
PITTSBURGH, March 23 — English composer, organist and choral trainer Andrew Fletcher will perform an organ concert Thursday, April 8 at
7:30 p.m. in Heinz Memorial Chapel on the University of Pittsburgh campus, Oakland.
Fletcher will perform "Dorian" by J.S. Bach and his own composition, Paraludium "Integritas," in addition to other pieces from the 19th and 20th Centuries.
A fellow in organ performance at the London College of Music, Fletcher has pursued a freelance career in his hometown of Birmingham since 1985. He also serves as director of music at St. Thomas's, Stourbridge, and is in high demand as a piano and organ teacher, as a recitalist and accompanist, and as a composer and arranger.
Fletcher has toured extensively in the United States giving recitals, master classes and choral workshops. His CD recording of late-romantic organ music from St. Mary's, Warwick, received critical acclaim and his composed works have been published, by Oxford University Press, among others.
