PITT AMONG SPONSORS OF COLOMBIAN RELIEF CONCERT
PITTSBURGH, Feb. 23 — The University of Pittsburgh's Center for Latin American Studies, Carlow College and Pittsburgh's Latin American Cultural Union (LACU) will sponsor "Ayuda-a-Colombia," a Colombian earthquake-relief concert from 3 to 5 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 27 at Carlow College's Grace Library Auditorium, Oakland.
The benefit features groups Musuhalpa, an Andean musical group; Coro Latina America, singing traditional Latin American songs, and LACU dancers performing Peruvian, Brazilian and Colombian dances. A number of individuals also will entertain, including Antonio Espinal, orchestra director of Palacio de Bellas Artes of Mexico City. Latin American and Colombian food also will be available at the event.
Sponsors hope to raise $20,000 in Pittsburgh for earthquake victims through this and future events. Donations made in specified levels will be acknowledged in the concert program. Contributions can be sent to: LACU,
P.O. Box 19403, Pittsburgh, PA 15213 (indicate "for Colombian Earthquake Relief" on the check). The LACU will administer funds to the Minuto De Dios, a charitable organization in Colombia.
