MICHAEL MCCURRY MAKES "PITT" STOP HIS FIRST ON ROAD AWAY FROM WHITE HOUSE
PITTSBURGH, Oct. 6 -- After three and a half years as President Clinton's press secretary, Michael D. McCurry will make the University of Pittsburgh his first stop on the lecture circuit on Monday, Oct. 19, at 8:30 p.m.
in the William Pitt Union Assembly Room, Oakland. McCurry's visit is sponsored by the Pitt Program Council.
Professing a strategy of never having asked the President about his relationship with Monica Lewinsky, McCurry says that he never intentionally mislead reporters about the affair that may lead to Clinton's impeachment.
While McCurry's immediate plans include speaking engagements, at his final briefing for reporters and as noted in the New York Times, he said that he also might write a book "about the changes we're going through as a culture, as we try to communicate about public policy in the information age."
