The following events at the University of Pittsburgh are open to the public and cover the time period, April 27 - May 3.

EXHIBIT

4/28 - 5/30 Pitt's Generations Together program will sponsor an art exhibit titled "Arts Across The Generations," featuring local artwork by elementary and secondary school students and the elders they have worked with over the past year. William Pitt Union, Kimbo Gallery, Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Saturday, noon - 5 p.m. Free admission. For more information, call 648-7446.

4/28 - 5/1 Pitt's Generations Together program presents "OBNOVA: Renewal Through the Eyes of Bosnian Children", a collection which includes 60 original drawings and paintings by children from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The exhibit will be featured as part of the "Intergenerational Arts Festival." William Pitt Union, Assembly Room. Free admission. For more information, call 648-7446.

MUSIC

5/2 Pitt's Center for American Music presents "Stephen Foster's America." The concert will feature tenor Douglas Jimmerson of Washington, DC, performing a tribute to Pittsburgh's own Stephen Foster. Stephen Foster Memorial Auditorium, 8 p.m. Tickets are $12 general admission; $10 seniors; $8 students. For more information, call 624-4100.

WORKSHOP

5/1 - 5/4 Pitt's Center for Philosophy of Science, the Department of Philosophy, and Carnegie Mellon University present a joint workshop titled "Modern Mathematical Thought II: Historical and Philosophical Approaches." The workshop is funded by the Harvey & Leslie Wagner Endowment. Friday and Monday 2M56 Forbes Quad, Pitt Campus; Saturday and Sunday, Adamson Wing of Baker Hall, Carnegie Mellon Campus. Sessions run 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Friday - Sunday, and the workshop concludes with a Roundtable Discussion 1 p.m. Monday. Free admission, however registration is required by April 23.
