Pitt in Hollywood to Feature Comedian Louis Anderson March 18

PITTSBURGH—Pitt in Hollywood will host a talk about the process of being funny with comedian Louie Anderson at 10:30 a.m. March 18 in the

University of Pittsburgh William Pitt Union Lower Lounge, 3959 Fifth Ave., Oakland. Screenwriter Carl Kurlander, a Pitt visiting professor, will moderate.

Comedy Central recently named Anderson "One of 100 Greatest Stand-up Comedians of All Time." He has starred in HBO and Showtime comedy specials and been a frequent guest on late-night talk shows. In addition, Anderson hosted The Family Feud, was executive producer and creator of the two-time Emmy award-winning Life With Louie animated series on FOX, and guest-starred in such sitcoms as Scrubs and Grace Under Fire, as well as the dramas Touched by an Angel and Chicago Hope. He also had a feature role in the film Coming to America, opposite Eddie Murphy.

A best-selling author, Anderson's books include Dear Dad (Penguin, 1991), Good-Bye Jumbo... Hello Cruel World (Random House Value Publishing, 1994), and The "F" Word: How to Survive Your Family (Warner Books, 2002), which he wrote with Kurlander.
