Pitt's Kuntu Repertory Theatre Extends Auditions to Friday, Sept. 24
PITTSBURGH—Pitt's Kuntu Repertory Theatre is still looking for actors, singers, and dancers for three of its upcoming Broadway musicals—Sweet Thunder: the Billy Strayhorn Story, Bubbling Brown Sugar, and Jelly's Last Jam. Auditions will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, in the Seventh-Floor Auditorium of Alumni Hall, 4227 Fifth Ave., Oakland.
Men and women of all cultural backgrounds are encouraged to attend, especially those who appreciate the music of Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, Jelly Roll Morton, and Fats Waller. Kuntu is looking for mature Black and White male and female singers and dancers, mature White male extras, Black male dancers over 18 years of age, and a young person 18-25 years of age.
Those auditioning should be prepared to present a monologue. They also should bring their own sheet music, a recent photo, and a resume that lists performance experience. For more information, call 412-624-7298.
