Pitt to Launch Seventh Season of the Pittsburgh Contemporary Writers Series Sept. 15

Season features poets, travel writers, an essayist, short story writer, and Pulitzer Prize winner

PITTSBURGH—The Pittsburgh Contemporary Writers Series at the University of Pittsburgh will launch its seventh season Sept. 15 and will include readings, presentations, and discussions by poets, travel writers, an essayist, short story writer, and Pulitzer Prize winner. Poets Eve Alexandra, author of The Drowned Girl (Kent State University Press, 2003), and Tracy K. Smith, author of The Body's Question (Graywolf Press, 2003), will open the season at 8:30 p.m. Sept. 15 in Room 501 of the Cathedral of Learning, 4200 Fifth Ave., Oakland.

All of the free, public events will be held at various campus locations (listed below) and will take place at 8:30 p.m., except for the Roundtable Discussion, at 3 p.m.

Sept. 23, and the Travel Panel, at 6 p.m. Oct. 13.
