Preparing a Nation Conference Explores Pitt Research, Education, and Training Programs in Homeland Defense
PITTSBURGH—From research and education in biosecurity to first-responders, the University of Pittsburgh has been deeply involved in America's recent emphasis on national preparedness. The University will showcase these efforts in a conference titled Preparing a Nation, from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. April 15 on the Fifth Floor of Alumni Hall, 4227 Fifth Ave., Oakland.
D.A. Henderson, professor of medicine and public health and a world-renowned expert in bioterrorism, will deliver the keynote address during an invitation-only luncheon preceding the conference.
A roundtable discussion will explore industry and governmental perspectives on topics including bioterrorism defense, public health, first-responder technologies, and cyber-security.
The conference will culminate in a poster session detailing Pitt's research, education and training initiatives, and technology development in more than two dozen disciplines.
