PITTSBURGH—Highly renowned surgeon and author James J. Barber will be signing copies of his book The Forever Factor (New Horizon Communications, 2003) at noon Oct.11 at the University of Pittsburgh Book Center.

In his book, Barber attacks aging at its very causes, suggesting methods that prevent and counteract its effects. The Forever Factor is a comprehensive resource that illustrates how simple changes in diet, exercise, nutritional supplements, and attitude can dramatically change the rate at which the body ages. Barber's revolutionary approach explains how to enjoy more energy and live a full life.

Barber earned the Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1971. A member of the Dean's List and a University Scholar while at Pitt, Barber won class awards in surgery, medicine, pediatrics, and obstetrics. He also was named Top Surgeon in America by the Consumer's Research Council of America as well as being named honorary cochair of the Physicians Advisory Board.

The event is being sponsored by The Book Center and the book's distributor Cedar Fort. Admission is free and open to the public.
