Pitt, Japan-America Society Bring Japanese Taiko Drum Performance to Pittsburgh

PITTSBUGH—How, an amateur Taiko drum group from Japan, will perform at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 29 in the Benedum Hall auditorium, 3700 O'Hara St., Oakland. How is presented by the Asian Studies Center in Pitt's University Center for International Studies and the Japan-America Society of Pennsylvania (JASP).
Taiko playing traces back centuries in Japan, where it was introduced by travelers from Korea and China. How performs traditional Japanese Taiko and flute music with a modern treatment.
General admission tickets are $10, and $5 with a valid Pitt ID. For reservations, call JASP at 412/433-5021.
