Pitt Alumnae Council Spring Event Feeds the Palate and Financial Appetite

Rania Harris will show how to entertain on a budget with a special meal Prepared by Catering by Rania.
PITTSBURGH—Learn about financial success and cooking on a budget with Ruth Forsyth, a certified financial planner, and Rania Harris, of Catering by Rania, at the University of Pittsburgh Alumni Association Alumnae Council's annual Spring Event from 5 to 8:30 p.m. May 16 in the William Pitt Union Assembly Room,
3959 Fifth Ave. in Oakland.
Participants can test their money knowledge in a game of "Financial Jeopardy;" ease financial fears with "Stella's Secrets to Financial Success;" peruse the information marketplace and get tips from professionals; and learn how to entertain on a budget. In addition, festivities will include a silent auction, chances on a basket of cheer, and 50-50 raffles. All proceeds from the evening will benefit the Alumnae Council endowed scholarship fund and the Lantern Night Tradition.
Forsyth, speaker at this year's event, is director of market development at the Acacia Financial Center of Pittsburgh. She earned the Bachelor of Arts in Communication degree at Pitt and also has the Master of Science degree in financial planning with emphasis in retirement planning from the College of Financial Planning in Denver, Co. Forsyth serves on several boards and organizations, including the Pitt Alumni Association and Alumnae Association, the Financial Planning Association of Pittsburgh, and the Professional Advisory Committee of the United Way of Allegheny County. A cohost of "All Things Financial" on KQV Radio, Forsyth teaches in Pitt's Lifetime Learning Program and was a speaker at the "Every Woman's Money Conference" in Pittsburgh last year.
