Fiesta Filipina to Appear at Pitt April 20

PITTSBURGH—Fiesta Filipina, a troupe of 56 Filipino dancers and musicians, will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday in the University of Pittsburgh's Bellefield Hall,
315 South Bellefield Ave., in Oakland.
The musical component of Fiesta Filipina features an ensemble of 25 bamboo instruments, called angklung. The group's dancers, arrayed in bright costumes, will perform authentic dances from the Philippines. Fiesta Filipina originated in Canada and is celebrating its 35 anniversary.
The Filipino-American Association of Pittsburgh, which is sponsoring the event, is raising funds to build a Philippine Nationality Room at Pitt.
