Pitt Program Council Presents "Truth Behind the Terror"
PITTSBURGH—Specialists in terrorism, biological warfare, public health, military campaigns, and the Muslim religion will present a free panel discussion titled "Truth Behind the Terror" at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, in the University of Pittsburgh's William Pitt Union Ballroom. Pitt's Program Council is sponsoring the event.
The speakers will include Samuel Watson, director of the Public Health and Bioterrorism Response Program in the Ridgway Center for International Security Studies at the University's Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA); Phil Williams, professor of public and international affairs in GSPIA; Laurie Eisenberg, professor of history at Carnegie Mellon University; and Rand P. Miller, U.S. Air Force National Defense Fellow in the Ridgway Center.
Watson will talk about health, public safety, and biological warfare; Williams will speak on terrorism; Eisenberg will lecture about the Muslim religion and the Taliban regime; and Miller will discuss the military aspects of the Afghanistan campaign.
Donald Goldstein, professor of public and international affairs in GSPIA and the interim director of the Ridgway Center for International Security Studies, will act as moderator.
