PITTSBURGH-The University of Pittsburgh will host the 24th annual Polish Festival from noon to 5 p.m. Nov. 8 in the Cathedral of Learning Commons Room, 4200 Fifth Ave., Oakland.

The free public, family-oriented event-to promote and celebrate Polish culture and traditions-is sponsored by the Nationality Rooms Program and the Polish Nationality Room Committee.

The Polish Festival will feature songs by folk singer Radoslaw Fizek and dance performances by the Lajkoniki folk dancers of McKeesport and the Krazowiaki Polish Folk Circle from Youngstown, Ohio. Crafts for children, art demonstrations, cultural displays, egg decorating, folk dance instruction, and a variety of holiday ornaments and Polish imports will be part of the festivities.

In addition, visitors can purchase such authentic Polish dishes as stuffed cabbage, Polish sausage sandwiches and sauerkraut, noodles and cabbage, pierogi, and baked goods.
