Pitt's Johnson Institute for Responsible Leadership to Present Lecture by Alice Eagly Titled "Women and the Labyrinth of Leadership" Sept. 18
PITTSBURGH-The Johnson Institute for Responsible Leadership in Pitt's Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh will present a lecture Sept. 18 at 4:30 p.m. by Alice Eagly, a leading scholar on gender and leadership and a professor of psychology at Northwestern University. The lecture, which will be held in the Pittsburgh Athletic Association's Schenley Lounge, 4215 Fifth Ave., Oakland, is free and open to the public-but preregistration is requested.
Eagly's new book, "Through the Labyrinth: The Truth About How Women Become Leaders" (Harvard Business School Press, 2007), re-examines the path women follow to assume leadership positions in a variety of organizations. She questions conventional wisdom about the so-called "glass ceiling" and argues instead that women must navigate a complex labyrinth of issues and challenges on their way to the top.
To register or for more information, contact the Johnson Institute at 412-648-1336 or ethics@gspia.pitt.edu.
