Pitt to Host High School Dance Workshop Feb. 9

Community Leisure-Learn Program hopes dance will encourage kids to exercise

PITTSBURGH-The University of Pittsburgh Department of Health and Physical Activity, in conjunction with the Community Leisure-Learn Program and Pitt's Dance Ensemble, will host a high school dance ensemble workshop from noon to 5 p.m. Feb. 9 in Trees Hall, Allequippa and Darragh streets, Oakland.

The workshop will be taught by Pitt faculty and members of the University Dance Ensemble and will feature dance styles from contemporary to ballroom, jazz to belly dance, and African to ballet. The classes will be presented in a half-day workshop and will culminate in an informal recital by the participants. Parking is available for $7.

The Community Leisure-Learn Program is the University's oldest outreach program, designed to encourage people of all ages to pursue healthier lifestyles.
