Pitt Researcher Cochairs Water Environment Federation's Disinfection 2007 Conference Feb. 4-7
PITTSBURGH-Clean water is essential for survival, and experts from around the country will be in Pittsburgh Feb. 4-7 to discuss threats facing our water supply and the most current methods of sanitizing water. University of Pittsburgh's Leonard W. Casson, associate professor of civil and environmental engineering in Pitt's School of Engineering, is cochair of the conference.
The Water Environment Federation's sixth annual Disinfection 2007 conference will focus on such advanced purifying technology as UV and ozonation. Attendees also will discuss water disinfection in cases of bioterrorism and toxic contamination, and how to better detect pathogens.
