LECTURE

4/28 Catherine T. Falk, an emeritus member of the New York Blood Center and an adjunct professor at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, will deliver the 3rd annual C. C. Li Memorial Lecture, titled "Artificial Neural Networks: Applications to Problems in Genetics," at 3 p.m. in the second floor auditorium, Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, 3811 O'Hara St., Oakland. A reception will follow in rooms 413 A and B. This event is sponsored by the Pitt Department of Human Genetics in the Graduate School of Public Health. Pitt and the Pittsburgh Filmmakers will host the 8th Annual Russian Film Symposium from May 1 to 6 at Pitt's Oakland campus and Pittsburgh Filmmakers' Melwood Screening Room, 477 Melwood Ave. Admission to the Melwood Screening Room is $5. The free screenings on the Pitt campus are in the Frick Fine Arts Building, Schenley Drive, and Room 208-B, Cathedral of Learning, 4200 Fifth Ave., Oakland. WORKSHOP

4/29 Charles Dumas, director of the Pitt Kuntu Repertory Theatre's upcoming Seven Guitars (May 18-June 3) and an associate professor at the Penn State University School of Theatre, will conduct a free actor's workshop, including tips on acting technique and auditioning, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Seventh-Floor Auditorium of Alumni Hall, 4227 Fifth Ave., Oakland. EXHIBITIONS

4/27 The first editions of 15 major works by author Richard Wright are on display through April 30 on the second and third floors of Pitt's Hillman Library, 3960 Forbes Ave., Oakland. Library hours are 7:50 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to midnight, Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday.

4/27 The Pitt University Art Gallery will host the Studio Arts Student Exhibition through April 30 in the Frick Fine Arts Building, Schenley Drive, Oakland. Hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is free.
