Brown Bag Lecture-"In Small Print: Women and the History of the Small Press"

Poet and Pitt MFA candidate Tiffany Merriman will examine the history of women poets in the small press, the politics of inclusion and exclusion in small press literature, and the position of presses that are explicitly for women authors.

Brown Bag Lecture-"Motherhood and Activism in Peruvian Women's Organizations"

This talk will be presented by Pitt Visiting Assistant Professor of Anthropology Blenda Femenias, a sociocultural anthropologist whose interests center on questions of identity, including gender, race, ethnicity, language, and nationalism. She is the author of Gender and the Boundaries of Dress in Contemporary Peru (University of Texas Press, 2005).
