Pitt Program Council Sponsors Hosts of ESPN's Mike and Mike in the Morning Radio Show Feb. 16

PITTSBURGH-Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg, cohosts of ESPN's radio show Mike and Mike in the Morning, will give a lecture presentation sponsored by the Pitt Program Council at 8:30 p.m. Feb. 16 in the University of Pittsburgh's William Pitt Union Assembly Room, 3959 Fifth Ave., Oakland.

The cohosts will discuss their broadcasting careers, followed by a question-and-answer session. The event is free for all Pitt students and $6 for all others. Pitt students with a valid ID will be admitted first; all others will be admitted at 8:25 p.m.

Mike and Mike in the Morning radio show debuted in January 2000. It is carried by more than 200 affiliates nationwide, Monday through Friday, from 6 to 10 a.m. ET.

Greenberg also serves as an anchor for the 6 p.m. SportsCenter, ESPN's flagship news and information program, while Golic works as an analyst for ESPN and ESPN2's National Football League studio programming and the networks' college football game coverage.

Golic joined ESPN as a reporter/analyst for Sunday NFL Countdown in 1995. He worked as the color commentator for the Arena Football League from 1996 to 1998 and the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars preseason games from 1995 to 1998.

A graduate of the University of Notre Dame in 1985, Golic was captain of the football team during his senior year. He served nine years as a defensive tackler for the Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles, and Houston Oilers. While in Philadelphia, Golic launched his television career with a weekly segment on the Randle Cunningham Show; he later received a Mid-Atlantic Region Emmy award for his feature, "Golic's Got It."

Greenberg joined ESPN in 1996 for ESPNEWS. He graduated from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism in 1989. He worked as a reporter for SportsChannel Chicago in 1994-95. He also served as Chicago's WMAQ-Radio sports anchor/reporter from 1989 through 1992, then became a reporter and talk show host for Chicago's WSCR-Radio until 1996, covering such events as the Super Bowl and World Series.
