Michelle Obama to Visit the University of Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH—As part of the Hillary for America campaign, First Lady Michelle Obama, sponsored by student group Pitt College Dems, will visit the University of Pittsburgh Wednesday, Sept. 28, to encourage voter registration. The rally will be held on upper campus at the Fitzgerald Field House, Allequippa and Darragh Streets, Oakland. First Lady Michelle Obama will deliver remarks at 3:30 p.m.
Doors will open at 1 p.m. No entrance will be permitted after 3 p.m.
The rally will be open to the public. The campaign encourages attendees to RSVP, but an RSVP does not guarantee admission. Attendees should avoid bringing large belongings, signs, and umbrellas.
The section of Allequippa Street in front of the Fitzgerald Field House will be closed from 2 to 5 p.m. Upper campus can be accessed by riding the Port Authority of Allegheny County’s 81 and 83 bus routes. Buses will not stop in front of the building during the closure. Foot traffic will be allowed. The OC Parking Lot on Allequippa Street will be open.
Media will be required to show employee credentials and a valid state I.D. Members of the media who are interested in covering the rally should RSVP here.
