Pitt Hosts 35th Latin American and Caribbean Festival
PITTSBURGH—Salsa dancing, traditional foods, handmade crafts, children’s activities, and more will be featured at one of the largest regional gatherings celebrating Latin American and Caribbean cultures as the University of Pittsburgh presents the 35th Latin American and Caribbean Festival.
Hosted by Pitt’s Center for Latin American Studies, the free public festival will take place from noon to 10 p.m. March 21 in the first-floor galleria of Wesley W. Posvar Hall, 230 S. Bouquet St., Oakland.
Festivalgoers can enjoy music and dance shows throughout the day as well as a workshop and film screenings with the Romero Theater Troupe. Attendees will also be able to peruse booths offering Latin American and Caribbean products such as handmade cards from Ecuador, traditional foods like hallacas from Venezuela, artwork such as Haitian metal work, and information about local organizations connected to Latin America and the Caribbean.
