PITT LAW SCHOOL TO HOST MINORITY DAY AND ADMISSIONS WORKSHOP
PITTSBURGH, Feb. 2-- In recognition of Black History Month and to expose minority high school and college students to careers in the legal profession, the University of Pittsburgh School of Law is hosting a Minority Law day on Friday, Feb. 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the 5th Annual Law School Admissions Workshop on Saturday, Feb. 17, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Both programs are free and open to students, and will give them the opportunity to speak to people in the law profession as well as current minority students enrolled in law school.
Minority Law Day will include a mock law school class, a student panel moderated by the president of the Black Law Students Association, a panel discussion with members of the local bar, and a luncheon. It will be held at Pitt's School of Law in the Teplitz Moot Court Room on the ground floor. To register call 412-648-1415.
At the 5th Annual Law School Admissions Workshop, students will meet with the Minority Affairs Committee of the Women's Bar Association and admission representatives to discuss questions about law school, including the application process and financial aid. Breakfast will be served. It will be held at Pitt's School of Law in room G-12. Register by calling 412-851-0188 .
