PITTSBURGH, Nov. 27 -- Paul Critchlow, Merrill Lynch's senior vice president for communications and public affairs, and former press secretary for Governor Dick Thornburgh, will be the guest speaker at the first Merrill Lynch Lecture Series on Thursday, Nov. 30, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., in the Frick Fine Arts Auditorium, Schenley Drive, Oakland.

Critchlow's talk is titled, "Lessons From the Thornburgh Years: Principles of Crisis Management." Following the lecture, Governor Thornburgh, and former cabinet members Jim Scheiner and Bob Wilburn, will join Critchlow and take questions from the audience.

His career in journalism and government includes working as The Philadelphia Inquirer's chief political writer.

Critchlow has held his current position and been a member of Merrill Lynch's executive management committee since 1988. Critchlow also serves as president of the Merrill Lynch Foundation, the company's philanthropic arm.

The lecture is presented by the University Library System and the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, in conjunction with the Dick Thornburgh Archives.
