UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH HOSTS 6TH ANNUAL JOB FAIR
Pittsburgh, Sept. 7 -- The University of Pittsburgh will hold "Opportunities 2000," a job fair for Pitt students and alumni on Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 27 and 28, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the William Pitt Union Ballroom, Kurtzman Room, and Assembly Room, 3959 Fifth Avenue, Oakland.
Careers in engineering, technology, and science will be highlighted on the 27th, and careers in business, not-for-profits, and human services will be the focus on the 28th. Approximately 150 companies representing business, science, and human services will be present. More than 1100 people attended last year's job fair.
Networking receptions will be held the evening prior to each fair on Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 26 and 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Mellon Financial Corporation Hall in the Masonic Temple. To register for the networking reception, alumni should call 412-624-8229 and students should call 412-648-7130.
"Opportunities 2000" sponsors include Deloitte Consulting, ADC Telecommunications, Eli Lilly and Company, Kaufmann's, PNC, Andersen Consulting, Westinghouse Electric, Bechtel Plant Apparatus Division, Black and Decker, Ernst and Young, H. B. Maynard, National City Corporation, PFPC, Phillip Morris, and Symbol Technologies.
