PITT TO PRESENT UKRAINIAN HOLIDAY SONGS AT BARNES & NOBLE
PITTSBURGH, Nov. 30 -- The University of Pittsburgh's Center for Russian and East European Studies is sponsoring a performance of Ukrainian Christmas songs, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 17, at the Barnes & Noble bookstore, downtown.
A trio of performers, members of a professional Ukrainian folk singing group, will perform seasonal Ukrainian songs, some of which will be accompanied by a bandura, a traditional Ukrainian stringed instrument.
The presentation is the next in a monthly series offered at Barnes & Noble by the University Center for International Studies, Africana Studies and the African Drum & Dance Ensemble at Pitt.
The event is free and open to the public. Barnes & Noble is located at
339 Sixth Street, entrance on Smithfield Street.
