PITT'S AFRICAN DANCE AND DRUM ENSEMBLE TO HOLD AUDITIONS
PITTSBURGH, Sept. 15 -- The African Dance and Drum Ensemble at the University of Pittsburgh will hold open auditions for male singers and dancers Sept. 24 and 25 for its production of Langston Hughes' "Black Nativity."
The auditions will be held at the Oakland School of Performing Arts,
3800 Forbes Avenue, according to the following schedule:
• Male Singers: 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 24
• Male Dancers: 9 to 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 25
Interested individuals should bring a photo and resume to the audition. Singers should also prepare a musical selection.
"Black Nativity" is an African-American musical about the birth of Jesus. The African Dance and Drum Ensemble, under the direction of Oronde Sharif, will present its sixth season of "Black Nativity," Dec. 3-19.
