KUNTU REPERTORY THEATRE KICKS OFF PITT'S SECOND SEASON AT BARNES & NOBLE
PITTSBURGH, August 30 -- The University of Pittsburgh's internationally-known Kuntu Repertory Theatre will perform "A Musical Level of Pain" from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 8, at the Barnes & Noble book store, downtown.
Written by Joy Jones and directed by Kuntu managing director Eileen Morris, "A Musical Level of Pain" tells of a man with marital and medical problems who discovers the healing power of music. It was featured among 14 plays in the 1999 Pittsburgh New Works Festival.
This presentation is the first in a series of monthly offerings at Barnes & Noble by the University of Pittsburgh Center for International Studies, Africana Studies and the African Drum & Dance Ensemble. This collaborative effort began last year to provide education, entertainment and cultural experience to audiences downtown.
The event is free and open to the public. Barnes & Noble is located at
339 Sixth Avenue, entrance on Smithfield Street.
