PITT CONVOCATION AND EVENTS CENTER WILL BE TOPIC OF COMMUNITY FORUM

Contact:

PITTSBURGH, July 29 -- The University of Pittsburgh's planned Convocation and Events Center will be the focus of a community forum, Wednesday, August 4, at 6 p.m. in the Cathedral Cafe on the ground floor of the Cathedral of Learning.

The forum will concentrate on plans for the Convocation and Events Center to be located on Pitt's upper campus. Topics covered will include the design and construction of the new facility, and future development of the adjacent open area. The session is the latest in a series of presentations about the University's program to improve its facilities to meet the needs of its students into the next century. Members of the public are invited to participate in the discussion of the plans following the presentations.

The event is part of an ongoing effort by the University to inform Oakland residents of its building plans and to provide them with an opportunity to comment on them.
