GLOBAL BUSINESS STRATEGIST TO SPEAK AT PITT

PITTSBURGH, -- Stephen H. Rhinesmith, one of the world's leading experts on implementing global business strategy and increasing productivity, will speak on "Managing in the Global Arena," beginning at 9:45 a.m., Tuesday, April 6 in Room 3J12 of the Forbes Quadrangle Building on the University of Pittsburgh campus.

For more than 25 years, Rhinesmith has worked with business, government and private organizations to help managers and international teams improve effectiveness and productivity. He is a consultant to numerous Fortune 100 companies on globalization and the development of global mindsets, competencies and corporate cultures.

His recent book, A Manager's Guide to Globalization, is used in many executive development programs to help managers gain a more global perspective in their work. Rhinesmith has over 20 years of senior international management experience, 15 of which were as president of three different service organizations. He also served for 10 years as a senior organization development consultant to the World Bank.

During 1986-87, Rhinesmith was President Reagan's coordinator for

U.S. - Soviet exchanges, holding the diplomatic rank of U.S. ambassador. He also has served as chairman of the American Society for Training and Development.
