The following events at the University of Pittsburgh are open to the public and cover the time period, December 5 - December 12.

HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE

12/6 Pitt's Nationality Rooms Holiday open house offers ethnic song, dance and food. Cathedral of Learning, noon - 6 p.m. Admission is free. The Nationality Rooms will be decorated in their traditional holiday style beginning Nov. 22. Tours are available throughout the holiday season. The cost of the tours are: adults, $2.00; senior citizens, $1.50; and children, (8 -18) $ .50. The rooms will be closed on Dec. 24, 25, 31, 1998 and Jan. 1, 1999. CHILDREN'S HOLIDAY PARTY

12/5 Pitt Alumnae Council to host 57th annual children's holiday party. Santa Claus, face painting, crafts, and refreshments are just a few of the enticements for children attending the party. Cathedral of Learning, Commons Room, 1 - 3 p.m. Admission $5, children age three and under are free, reservation are required. EXHIBIT

12/7 - 12/11 Pitt's University Art Gallery presents: Creating a Sense of Place: Devotion Builds a Campus. The four exhibits presented are: Honoring Cultural Traditions: The 60th Anniversary of the Nationality Rooms; Heinz Memorial Chapel: Celebrating 60 Years of Light; In the Public Eye, A Century of Art and Architecture on Pitt's Campus; and Over Time: The Art of Jane Haskell. The curators for the exhibits are the students from the 1998 Museum Studies Seminar at Pitt. Frick Fine Arts, University Art Gallery, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday - Friday. MUSIC
