LATIN AMERICAN AND CARIBBEAN FESTIVAL TO CONCLUDE PITT'S INTERNATIONAL WEEK

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 18 -- International Week at the University of Pittsburgh will conclude with the 19th Annual Latin American and Caribbean Festival, from noon to 10:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 26, in the William Pitt Union, Forbes Avenue and Bigelow Boulevard.

Sponsored by Pitt's Center for Latin American Studies and the Latin American Cultural Union, the festival will feature exhibits, arts and crafts, foods, music and dance from Latin America and the Caribbean. Performances will begin at noon with a Latin American choir, followed by African and Brazilian drum rhythms, a Capoeira-Angola dance performance, a Caribbean Vibes Steelband, and others.

The day concludes with dancing to the sounds of two local Latin bands, Orquesta Tropical and Guaracha.

Admission is $2 for adults, with children and students free.
