UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH PRESENTS FESTIVAL OF INDIA
PITTSBURGH, July 27 -- The University of Pittsburgh Indian Nationality Room Committee and Indian Community Organizations will present a "Festival of India" on Sunday, August 16. The Festival, open and free to the public, will be held in the Commons Room at the Cathedral of Learning from noon to 5 p.m.
Foods from the various Indian regions will be featured, as well as traditional and folk dances, a recital of tabla and veena music, henna hand painting and fashions of modern Indian clothing. An Indian bazaar featuring clothing, jewelry and artifacts will add to the festivities.
