11/5 Lew Soloff (trumpet) and Oscar Brashear (trumpet) will deliver a lecture titled "A Special Tribute to Dizzy Gillespie" at 10:30 a.m. in the WPU Assembly Room.

11/5 Idris Muhammad (drums) will deliver a lecture titled "Rhythmic Explosion: Dedicated to Kenny Clark, Art Blakely, and Max Roach" at 1 p.m. in the WPU Assembly Room.

11/6 George Mraz (bass) and Marc Whitfield (guitar) will deliver a lecture titled "The Rhythm of Jazz: Dedicated to Oscar Pettiford, Jimmy Blanton, and Django Reinhardt" at 10 a.m. in the WPU Assembly Room.

THEATER

11/10 Pitt Kuntu Repertory Theatre presents Arms and the Man, written by George Bernard Shaw and directed by W. Stephen Coleman, in the Charity Randall Theatre, Stephen Foster Memorial, Forbes and Bigelow avenues, Oakland. The preview performance is Nov. 10 and Opening Night is Nov. 11, both at 8 p.m. Performances will take place every day (except Nov. 15.) at 8 p.m., through Nov. 21. Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m., and a special Shakespeare-in-the-Schools matinee will be held Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. Admission is $19 for reserved seats, $17 for preview tickets, and $10 for students.
