Pitt's Early American Room to Host Ghost Seekers on Halloween Night
PITTSBURGH-Occasional nocturnal occurrences have led some people to believe that a ghost inhabits the Early American Room on the third floor of the University of Pittsburgh's Cathedral of Learning, 4200 Fifth Ave., Oakland.
From 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, the Early American Room (328) will be open to the public. Visitors are welcome to climb the secret "dog-leg" staircase to view the upstairs bedroom where some claim to have seen the wedding quilt on the four-poster bed move, sparking rumors of ghostly visits.
E. Maxine Bruhns, director of the Nationality Rooms and Intercultural Exchange Program, will be on hand to recount her unsettling experiences. Bruhns believes that the ghost is her West Virginian grandmother and asks visitors to remain quiet and respectful, should the ghost choose to grace them with her presence.
