The University of Pittsburgh to Present a Lecture, "China's Water Woes," March 17
PITTSBURGH-Taming the rivers, greening the deserts, and providing water for China's mushrooming cities. Water is crucial to the continued success of China's economic boom, but is there enough? Will China's "water woes" have a significant impact on American prosperity?
Jennifer L. Turner, director of the Woodrow Wilson Center's China Environment Forum, will discuss the problems, solutions, policies, and pitfalls in this crucial development area in a lecture titled "China's Water Woes," at 7:30 p.m. March 17, 107 Barco Law Building, 3099 Forbes Ave., Oakland.
The free public lecture is sponsored by the Asian Studies Center's Confucius Institute in Pitt's University Center for International Studies and the University Honors College.
