Pitt to Present a Lecture by Reza Aslan, "Welcome to the Islamic Reformation"

PITTSBURGH-Reza Aslan, a writer and scholar of comparative religions and author of No god but God: The Origins, Evolution, and Future of Islam (Random House, 2005), will deliver a lecture at the University of Pittsburgh titled "Welcome to the Islamic Reformation," at 5:30 p.m. Sept.14 in Room 125, Frick Fine Arts Building, Schenley Drive, Oakland. No god but God, Aslan's first book, has been translated into several languages and was short-listed for the Guardian (UK) First Book Award.

Aslan received the Bachelor of Arts degree in religion from Santa Clara University, a Master of Theological Studies degree from Harvard University, and a Master of Fine Arts degree in fiction from the University of Iowa. He is currently a doctoral candidate in the history of religions at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
