Pitt Maintains Its Rank of 19th Among Top Public National Universities, Rises in Other Categories in U.S. News & World Report's Annual "America's Best Colleges" Ratings
PITTSBURGH—In the 2007 edition of U.S. News & World Report's annual "America's Best Colleges" listings, due out on newsstands Monday, Aug. 21, in both magazine and guidebook versions, Pitt has maintained its rank of 19th among the top public national universities, while rising in other categories.
Pitt rose from 58th to 57th place in the Best National Universities category (tied with Boston University and Ohio State University). And in the category of Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs at engineering schools whose highest degree is a doctorate, Pitt's School of Engineering advanced from 33rd to 30th among public institutions, rising from 57th to 53rd overall.
The Pitt Johnstown campus maintained its ranking of 3rd in the northern region in the Top Public Comprehensive Colleges category.
